Overweight Outdoorsman & Site Update

Wow, I have been so busy this October it’s almost laughable.  In fact it all started getting crazy busy around mid September, and it does not appear that things will lighten up for me anytime soon.

I have not been posting here on this site as much as I would like to, and should be doing.  In fact, I have a handful of posts I started and have yet to finish on a variety of subjects; canoe tripping, my last BWCA trip, my future canoe tripping trips, small game hunting, bow hunting, camping, day hiking…etc…  You get the idea.

Update!  The Overweight Outdoorsman!

First things first.  I am hovering right around 258 to 261 pounds and have been for a couple months now.  It does fluctuate and I suspect it is just water weight.  My eating habits have remained healthy, but I have certainly plateaued.  Before May 2019 I want to have another weight loss push and drop at least 30-40 more pounds.

I have a big wilderness canoe trip planned for mid to late May 2019…  dropping that weight before the trip would make me happy.

I may or may not join a gym to help speed things along.

The hard part is getting through the next couple months and the Holiday season.  Everybody I know, friends and family, will be shoving foods in front of my face that I would gladly consume, but should be avoided.

Outdoor Update

Anyone who knows me even a little knows that the Autumn is my favorite time of year.  I have been busy the past few weeks, and not always able to do the things I want to do.  Sure, there are things I could blow off doing in order to do fun things outdoors in the woods… but my conscious would haunt me if I did that, and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy my time outdoors.

I’ve have been out small game hunting a few times for squirrel and rabbits.  No rabbits harvested, but a few squirrels are pot-pies now.  I was able to get my nephew out with me once, and he is hooked!  He wants to keep hunting small game and seemed to really enjoy his time with me in the woods.  Now he wants to tag along with me when I go bow hunting the next two weekends… I am looking forward to that.

So Very Busy

I have too many hobbies I think.  Reading, watching YouTube, movies, history, writing, flying, hiking, camping, canoe tripping, leather working, hunting, game developer (Construct 2 & 3), retro gaming geek (C64 & Amiga 500), family…etc…  So very busy.  And most of those hobbies mentioned above have their website I maintain related to them that I do affiliate marketing from on the side.  BUSY!

Random thought:  I was thinking about picking up the guitar again and playing.  It’s been a long time, but I have to admit it’s been on my mind.  I should probably not do that.  I have a lot going on as it is.

I was hoping to sneak in a river canoe trip this month, or maybe a trip up to the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage for a 2-3 nights.  But I know for a fact neither of those is going to happen.  My next couple weekends I will be up north bow hunting.  Between those weekend escapes I need to make a few video games for the kids in my family for Christmas and need to get to work finishing those.

So Very Busy…

I also have a couple canoe posts I started and want to post regarding my new Old Town Guide 119.

So stay tuned… things are coming.
