Overweight Outdoorsman Update!

It has been almost a month since I started the Keto Diet in a refreshed push to drop more weight.  The app I have been using to monitor my food intake is awesome and has greatly helped keep my on track every day.

The app is called Carb Manager and you can read more about my goals for 2019 by clicking here.

As for the weight update, as of this morning I am down to 249 pounds.  I would like to get down to 220 lbs and see how things feel.  I am not to concerned about how I look in clothes… hey, I’m married, so I already snagged me a gal, know what I mean?  I guess what I am saying is this; how I feel and my health is way more important than how I look at this point in my life.

I am looking forward to my first major canoe trip adventure of the year in May and seeing how I feel and perform on that trip.  I’m loosing about 2-3 pounds per week, and have about twelve or thirteen more weeks before my trip.  If I keep that rate of weight loss up I should be pretty close to my goal if not having met it.

So far this winter I have not ventured out much, just a few excursions during the day once in a while on the weekends.  As spring gets closer I suspect I will be getting out more and getting more active, which should help push some weight loss.

As of right now I don’t have plans for weight training or major cardio, but that could change.  I have been doing some stretching exercises to help improve my flexibility.  But aside from the Keto diet that is about it.

The May BWCA trip is not far away!
