September In The Superior National Forest

My spring overland trip got totally borked!  Luckily my September trip is still on.  However, instead of heading for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I am instead going to do the trip I had originally planned for May of this year.

That means I am heading for the Superior National Forest.  I will be bouncing around two tracks and back-roads around the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area, and yes, I am bringing my canoe with me!  My trusty Old Town Guide 119.

One of the reasons for not doing the longer planned Michigan trip is my not wanting to be to far from home.  The area in the Superior National Forest I am heading into is only about a 5-6 hour drive from my front door.

As of right now I am not sure if I will try to video record this trip or not.  As mentioned I find recording video a bit tedious…  But I may give it a try, again.

I am more than likely going to be going solo.  My hope is that my wife will be able to tag along, but it is not looking like that will be able to happen.  So while I am away she may have some of the grandkids over to keep her company.

I will be posting a list of overlanding kit I plan to take along in the near future… there is a new tent I am looking forward to testing out – It’s an instant tent!  I would never bring such a tent along on a wilderness canoe trip, but overlanding and boon-docking, heck yes!
