The Overweight Outdoorsman – Part 5, Weight Is Coming Off

I made it through the brunt of the Holiday’s and the family/friend gatherings with copious amounts of food, and I’ve managed to loose weight every week since I started this diet.  So far so good.  Though one week I barely lost any weight…

My goal is to loose at least 40 pounds before my planned late May solo Boundary Waters Canoe trip, and I am well on track to doing that and more.  I just need to keep up my diet change.  On top of that I am looking to join a gym in the next couple weeks, and will be touring a few in my area next week.

The Overweight Outdoorsman – Week Four Stats

Starting Weight as of 12/7/17:  325 lbs.

Weigh in on 1/4/17:  305.6 lbs.

Weight loss so far over four weeks:  19.4 lbs.

Last week on Thursday 12/28 I weighed in at 310.6.  Today, a week later I weighed in at 305.06.  Since last week’s weigh in have lost 5 pounds.

Looking Ahead

Like I said above I will be doing a few gym tours next week.  My wife and I will probably be joining one in the next couple weeks.  I really want to get started in some cardio with some light weight lifting.  The need to be careful of my knees is paramount, so I will need to focus on low impacting cardio, such as elliptical machines and treadmills to get things started.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I had a Physical Trainer Certificate way back in my youth, so I know a little about diet and exercise and losing weight healthily.

As I ballooned up to 319.6 lbs before starting this diet, I also know about how to put on weight!  Haha!

Anyway, I have one more Holiday party in two weeks that my work is throwing.  I am not too worried about it.

My diet has consisted of mostly low carb foods.  I eat small snack sized meals 5-6 times per day that are higher in protein.  This helps speed up my metabolism.  I also eat only within a twelve hour window – so if I start my first meal/snack at 7am, I don’t eat anything after 7pm that same day.  My energy levels have been good, and I don’t feel hungry.

I’ve been drinking lots of water too.

My exorcise the past four weeks has been nothing.  So all my wight loss so far has been through changing my diet.
