YouTube & Patreon

I have been thinking about getting more serious about putting content on YouTube the past couple months.  After going back and forth weighing the pros and cons I decided to move ahead with the intent to start adding what I hope will be quality content to YouTube.

Coinciding with my future YouTube content I am also starting a Patreon Page!  My hope with Patreon is to earn some cash to help pay for some of the future trips I would like to go on.  How awesome would it be to make a nice side income doing something you love?  Well, that’s my plan…  a dream I have.

TD BAUER ON YOUTUBE

I mostly use my YouTube account to watch YouTubers (such as Matthew Posa, Sean James, Doug Linker, Joe Robinet, Venture 4WD, and others) and comment on their videos.  Over the past few years I have posted some video footage of some outings I have done, mainly to show friends and family.  However, moving forward I plan to start adding quality content.

What ‘quality’ content do I plan to post on YouTube?  In a nutshell mostly scenic outdoor ambience videos.  Things like a babbling brook, a forest in Autumn, snow falling in the pines…  sights and sounds from the Great Outdoors.

Basically videos can pop on at home or wherever and relax to as they watch and listen to an outdoor scene I have recorded, edited, encode, and upload.

I may also create videos of short video clips and photos backed with music of some of my hikes and short excursions into the outdoors.

My YouTube page as I write this is 99% crap, but I plan to start adding decent content soon.

TD BAUER ON PATREON

Working in tandem (I hope) with my YouTube channel will be a Patreon page.  I would like to use Patreon to generate a little side income to help fund future outings I would love to go on.  The destinations I would like to go to would provide ample opportunities to create many beautiful ambience videos to share.

Ultimately it would be a dream come true if I could make enough of an income where I could travel all around North America exploring, overlanding, camping, and making outdoor ambience videos to share.  I doubt my endeavors would ever allow me to be so lucky, but a guy can dream, can’t he!  🙂

I have two tiers on my Patreon page, both offer some minor benefits to potential Patreons.

ALL FOR NAUGHT?

Maybe all of my planning and future content work will be all for naught.  Who can say?  By far the odds are against me of making any serious income from what I have planned to do.   But it’s not just about making some money, it’s also because I love to create and I love the outdoors.  I want to share, and if I can have an added benefit of making some side cash, all the better.
